34.1.3 File/Read/Data...

The File/Read/Data... menu item is used to read in a ANSYS FLUENT data file (which has a .dat extension) or parallel data file (which has a .pdat extension). This menu item will not be available until you read in a case or mesh file. See Sections  4.3.2 and 4.4 for details.

The File/Read/Data... menu item opens the Select File dialog box (see Section  2.1.6) which allows you to select the appropriate file to be read.
