2.3.2 Interphase Exchange Coefficients (Section 16.5.4)

The bulleted item for the symmetric model as well as equations 16.5-24 to 16.5-27 should be modified as follows:

For the symmetric model, the density and the viscosity are calculated from volume averaged properties:

$\rho_{pq} = \alpha_p \rho_p + \alpha_q \rho_q$ (2.3-2)

$\mu_{pq} = \alpha_p \mu_p + \alpha_q \mu_q$ (2.3-3)

and the diameter is defined as

$d_{pq} = \frac{1}{2}(d_p + d_q)$ (2.3-4)

in turn

$K_{pq} = \frac{\alpha_p \alpha_q \rho_{pq} f}{\tau_{pq}}$ (2.3-5)
