Da: Oggetto: CRESCO8 - Manutenzione ordinaria conclusa, indisponibilità prolungata per guasto UPS // CRESCO8 - Scheduled Maintenance Completed, Downtime Extended Due to UPS Issue Data: Thu Jul 30 11:12:23 CEST 2026 A: Gentili utenti, le attività programmate nei due precedenti giorni, 28 e 29 luglio, per consentire gli opportuni interventi di manutenzione ordinaria sugli impianti di raffreddamento a servizio del cluster CRESCO8 si sono conclusi regolarmente. Tuttavia, negli stessi giorni si è verificato un problema ad uno dei due UPS che protegge una parte dell’infrastruttura di calcolo, tra cui il recente server storage su cui insiste il file system LUSTRE per CRESCO8. Per tale motivo, e in attesa che l’intervento tecnico sull’UPS venga ultimato, lo storage è stato spento in via precauzionale. Data dunque l'assenza del file system parallelo ad alte prestazioni, il cluster CRESCO8 resterà indisponibile. Per lo stesso motivo, anche i server adibiti al trasferimento dati cresco-io.portici.enea.it non potranno accedere allo storage. Il tempo di ripristino è stimato in circa due ulteriori giorni. However, during the same period, an issue occurred with one of the two UPS systems protecting part of the computing infrastructure, including the recently installed storage server hosting the CRESCO8 LUSTRE file system. As a precautionary measure, the storage system has been shut down pending completion of the technical intervention on the UPS. Due to the resulting unavailability of the high-performance parallel file system, the CRESCO8 cluster will remain unavailable. For the same reason, the data transfer servers at cresco-io.portici.enea.it will also be unable to access the storage system.
