Title: The populations of neutron stars in the Galaxy and their evolutionary interconnection.
Abstract: Neutron stars are the compact remnants of massive stars that have undergone gravitational collapse at the end of their lives. In this presentation, I will review the various populations of neutron stars in our galaxy, with a particular focus on isolated neutron stars, such as magnetars, X-ray Dim Isolated Neutron Stars (XDINS), and Central Compact Objects (CCOs) in supernova remnants, describing their properties and peculiarities. Furthermore, I will discuss the magnetothermal evolution models of neutron stars, showing how they allow us to study the evolutionary connections between the different populations and provide insights into their equation of state.
