
This CD ROM contains all the resources required to both teach and learn Java programming.
The well-structured course makes use of a unique simulation tool - the 'Java sandbox' - to dynamically show the message flow within a system. The result is that code execution is brought to life on the screen and students are able to more easily understand how program code works - because they can see it working. The course starts from very basic first principles and takes students step-by-step up to advanced Java programming concepts. Those completing all exercises and assignments will gain the Java programming skills equivalent to those taking a 15 credit university module in Java programming.
The CD also contains a complete Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that is specifically designed for educational purposes (it is simple to use) as well as a complete Java compiler. Institution versions of this product include worksheets and assignments that can be used to monitor students' progress and act as a framework for assessment.

The resources are flexible - they can be used as self contained courses, have
a low assumed knowledge, can be used as a class activity, or via a projector.
