Installation instructions :-
1. Get
the binary
file (scilab-4.1.bin.linux-i686.tar.gz)
and put it in the directory where you want to install Scilab
(<scilab-path>)
2. Launch the
following commands :
[$SHELL] cd
<scilab-path>
[$SHELL] tar
xzf scilab-4.1.bin.linux-i686.tar.gz
[$SHELL] cd
scilab-4.1
[$SHELL] make
3. To launch Scilab :
[$SHELL] cd
<scilab-path>/scilab-4.1
[$SHELL]
bin/scilab
About
installation done in Afs
1) installed scilab as suggested above
2) moved to the home directory.
3) change the SCI dir
to SCI="/afs/.enea.it/software/scilab/scilab-4.1"
and similarly check for other paths and edit them
according to the new path
