Octave Installation

Note :-
Octave cannot be installed in the Afs directory directly becouse Afs does not supports hardlink creation therefore afs must be installed in some directory outside afs directory and using configure options a prefix should be provided which will put the bin  include  info  lib  libexec  man  share directories inside the /afs/.enea.it/software/octave directory

Installation Instructions :-
1) Octave cannot be installed in the Afs directory directly so create a directory outside Afs directory
2)  Download the source code octave-2.1.73.tar.gz
3)  Unpack the source code:  gzip -dc octave-2.1.73.tar.gz | tar xvf -
4)  now create a directory octave inside afs with path /afs/.enea.it/software/octave and useing configure options install octave giving prefix as this Afs octave directory path 
5)   ./configure --prefix=/afs/.enea.it/software/octave
6)   make
7)   make install
